Cast Pewter countertops have been fabricated in France for hundreds of years but were virtually unknown in America. 30 years ago, our founder brought the ancient skills of cast pewter to America and began the process of adding modern innovations to both reduce cost and enable creations that were previously impossible, such as seamless castings up to thirty-six feet long!
We now offer many unique metals and finishes to create statement products.
Pewter for instance is a malleable metal alloy made from 98% tin and fractional amounts of copper and antimony. VK Design’s pewter products exceed the highest culinary standards. They are lead free and our pewter’s non-porous surface is durable and easy to maintain with mild soap and water. Our pewter’s composition is naturally anti-bacterial, which makes it a wonderful surface option for kitchens and restaurants.
Our cast metal countertops will last for generations and develop a warm, natural patina with age. They are a gorgeous and practical option for commercial and residential applications. Our Proprietary Processes and Techniques Save Time and Reduce Cost
Design
Choose from our standard designs or work with our designers to create a custom hand made product. We also utilize CAD and 3D modeling systems make it easy to see exactly what your final product will look like.
Molding
We use both hand made molds and also create a CAD design to fabricate a 3D mold with liquid and pliable materials. Computer monitored molding machinery ensures accuracy. Then, we cast the molten metal of your choice.
Casting
Our metal specialist creates your choice of molten metal from raw materials and then cast into the mold. Our proprietary casting process uses robotic systems and human interaction to achieve the highest quality.
Quality Control
After the casting cools the selected finish is applied, again with robotic and human hands-on effort. Each piece goes through multiple quality control stages to ensure it meets our exceptional standards.
